#4 - Our Friend Movie Review

There are so many similarities between this movie and We Live In Time but if you were to ask me which one I liked better, I’d say Our Friend. I’m not a massive fan of either Jason Segel or Dakota Johnson, and I’d never heard of Casey Affleck before this film, but these three have such a captivating and natural connection on screen it was hard to focus on anything else I was doing.
With regards to the actual movie, I thought it was deeply moving and at times difficult to swallow. Having had a parent survive cancer it made me feel so much pain for little Evie and Molly. Being a kid and living with the fear of your parent potentially dying at any given moment is something no kid should go through.
It’s a stark reminder that everybody has shit in their lives but at the end of the day it’s the people you have by your side.
Highly recommend watching.
