Oh man where do I start. I am sorry to rank this at the same level or lower than Eternals. But first I’ll give special mention to Nicolas Hoult who was probably one of the very few saving graces of this film, somewhat including Krypto. (Obviously Krypto wasn’t going to be a real dog so I’ll let it slide and I am also a dog person and dog people must unite). He probably walks onto set every day and sighs really hard because he’s pulling all the weight.

Half of the movie looked as though it came straight from AI. It friggin grinds my gears. I’m not saying they did, but I’m looking at you stadium scene. The action scenes were lacklustre and the acting was average at best. Isobel Merced’s Hawk was just.. why are you here?

I was really excited to see Rachel Brosnahan in a big blockbuster but I can’t help feeling bummed out that her part was dimmed by pretty much everything else in the movie. And extracting emotion out of David Corenswet would be the equivalent of seeing pigs fly. It was like watching a rock bleed. Not sure where that analogy came from but it sounds right.

I’m not bashing the score, the score was wonderful. It’s John Williams for pete’s sake. But it doesn’t make a bad movie good. I have meaner things to say but I’ll keep it to myself because I’m sure they worked really hard on this film and maybe I just don’t get it.
